Covelli Centre 6:45PM Npv 1, 2020 Huntington Bank Community Alley, under the Market Street bridge, is lit up red tonight in honor of Rowan Sweeney, the 4 year old boy from Struthers, Ohio whose life was senselessly taken in an act of violence on September 21st 2020. Join us along with the City of Youngstown in honoring his memory.

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – A pasta dinner hopes to make enough money to help build a park in Rowan Sweeney’s honor. The pasta and meatball dinner ran Sunday from noon until 7 p.m. at The Embassy in Struthers Sunday. Struthers dad says playground is perfect memorial for his son, Rowan Sweeney

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all meals were take-out only. “I feel so blessed. I can’t thank everyone enough right now. I know that’s all I can say, but it really means so much more than that, so thank you all so much,” said David Sweeney, Rowan’s father. There were limited tickets being sold at the door, purchasing tickets in advance was recommended. For tickets, you could call Rachel Boyer at (330) 550-1771 or Vicki Dugan at (330) 550-4210. Each dinner included pasta and meatball with bread and butter. There was also a basket raffle, wine pull, 50/50 raffle and t-shirts and bracelets for sale. The winners were drawn on Facebook Live. Winners can pick up prizes at The Embassy on Monday.

Masks had to be worn at all times while at the event.
